The Handmade Internet Should Come Back

Personal websites used to mean something because they were personal. They still can.

The web got cleaner, faster, and more efficient. It also got flatter, safer, and weirdly forgettable. A lot of personal sites disappeared and got replaced by profiles inside rented platforms.

I miss pages that felt like a person made them, not a committee or a growth team. Not ugly on purpose. Just specific. A little odd. Slightly stubborn.

The handmade internet should come back because people are more interesting than feeds.
