The Handmade Internet Should Come Back

Personal websites used to mean something because they were personal. They still can.

The web got cleaner, faster, more efficient. It also got flatter, safer, and weirdly forgettable. A lot of personal sites disappeared, replaced by profiles inside rented platforms.

I miss pages that felt like a person made them. Not a committee. Not a growth team. Not ugly on purpose. Just specific. A little odd. Slightly stubborn.

The handmade internet should come back because people are more interesting than feeds.
