Running After 40: Slow, Ugly, Useful

Nobody tells you that slow is the whole point until you have no choice but to be slow.

Running after 40 is less cinematic than the internet suggests. It is mostly stiffness, negotiation, and accepting that ego is heavier than body fat. The good part is that patience stops being optional.

Slow running works because it is repeatable. Repeatable is useful. Useful beats heroic most of the time.

I am not training to become impressive. I am training so my future does not shrink faster than necessary.
